Privacy Policy

1. What the app sends, and when

Signed out (the default)

The game contacts api.hufbdo.com once per launch to ask whether there is a message to show you — a new version, or a notice. That request carries only:

• a random install identifier generated on your device the first time the app runs;
• the platform (iOS or Android) and the app version;
• your IP address, as with any internet request.

The install identifier is not an advertising id, is not shared with anyone, and is not linked to you. Reinstalling the app produces a new one. We use it to count how many installations exist, to show each message only once, and to know which app versions are still in use.

With an account

If you create one, we additionally store:

• the nickname you choose, which is public on the leaderboard;
• your password, stored only as a scrypt hash — we cannot read it;
• the results of finished games: score, highest tile, move count, duration, board size;
• a backup of your local progress, so a new phone starts where you left off.

We do not ask for an email address, a phone number or a real name, and there is no sign-in with Google, Apple or a social network.

Store disclosures

In Apple's App Privacy and Google Play's Data safety sections this is declared as User Content (game progress) and Identifiers, collected for App Functionality only, not linked to your identity, not used for tracking and not shared with third parties.

2. Data stored on your device

The game saves the following to its own private storage on your device, so that it can work:

• the board you are currently playing, so you can resume;
• scores and best scores, per board size;
• your last 300 finished games, with score, highest tile, move count and duration;
• lifetime statistics and unlocked achievements;
• your settings: theme, board size, sound, haptics, animation speed.

None of this leaves the device. It is not linked to you, to an account, or to any identifier. We cannot see it, and no third party can either.

3. Deleting it

On the device: Settings → Data → Reset all progress erases everything without uninstalling, and Clear game history removes only the history. Deleting the app removes all local data permanently.

On our server: open Account → Delete account in the app. The account, its scores, its leaderboard entries and its progress backup are removed immediately, not queued for later. Games saved on your device are left alone, and the app keeps working signed out.

If you no longer have the app installed, email trifumarius01@gmail.com from any address, tell us your nickname, and we do the same within 30 days. There is nothing left afterwards — we hold no copy you cannot remove.

4. Permissions

2048 Nova requests no runtime permissions — nothing that Android or iOS would ever prompt you to allow. It cannot access the camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, files, calendar or Bluetooth.

The Android build declares four ordinary permissions, all granted automatically and none of which can read anything about you: INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, for the leaderboard and for checking whether there is a message to show; VIBRATE, for the haptic feedback on each move; and WAKE_LOCK, for the optional "keep screen awake" setting. You can verify the full list yourself by inspecting the APK manifest.

5. Third-party services and SDKs

This version bundles no third-party SDK that collects data. Its dependencies — React Native, Expo modules, Hermes, Reanimated — are libraries that run locally with no telemetry enabled.

The only server the app contacts is api.hufbdo.com, which we run ourselves in Germany. No analytics provider, advertising network or data broker is involved. If a future version introduces one, section 9 explains how you will hear about it first.

Where you obtained the app matters separately: the Apple App Store and Google Play each collect their own data about downloads and accounts, under Apple's and Google's privacy policies. We receive only aggregate download and sales figures from them, which do not identify anyone.

6. Children

The game is rated suitable for all ages, has no chat, no advertising and no purchases. The only user-generated content is a nickname, which is why nicknames are limited to letters, numbers and simple punctuation. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13 (COPPA) or under 16 (GDPR); if you believe a child has created one, write to us and we will delete it.

7. How long we keep it, and your rights

Account data is kept until you ask us to delete it. Install records and the counters behind the campaign screens are kept for as long as the app is published, and are not tied to a person. Under the GDPR you can ask for access, correction, deletion, a copy of your data, or object to processing — write to trifumarius01@gmail.com and we answer within 30 days. The legal basis is performance of a contract for the account features, and legitimate interest for keeping the app working and knowing which versions are still in use.

8. Backups

If you back up your device to iCloud, Google or a computer, the app's local data may be included in that backup, handled by the backup provider under its own terms. We have no access to it.

9. Changes to this policy

This page describes the current version of the game. As 2048 Nova develops, what it does may change — and if a future version collects something new, or introduces advertising or analytics, this page is updated before that version is released, the change is listed in the release notes, and the App Store and Google Play disclosures are updated to match.

The version and date at the top tell you which policy you are reading. Continuing to use the game after an update means you accept the revised policy; if you would rather not, you can stop using it and ask us to delete your account as described in section 3.
